Aaamazzara (Therbia)
Aaamazzarites, also called Therbians, are a hairless species with pale yellow skin. Aaamazzara orbits Epsilon Serpentis in the Alpha Quadrant. It is 70.3 light years away from Earth. Everything on the planet is bio-chemically produced from their mouths, including clothing and furniture. They are members of the United Federation of Planets.


Aenar, along with the Andorians, inhabit the world of Andor (Andoria). In many regards, they are similar to the Andorians in physical appearance. However, their skin is a light blue/white color, they are almost totally blind, and they have powerful telepathic abilities. Aenar are pacifistic and do not use their mind reading abilities against the will of another individual. However, their blindness does not appear to hinder their ability to know that they are in the presence of a "blueskin" Andorian or detect obstacles.

Aenar government, such as it is, has little structure; leaders of Aenar society are chosen as the need arises, usually when contact with outsiders is called for. The Aenar are usually considered to be just a different ethnicity of the Andorian race and not an utterly separate species.

The Aenar population is about 11,000 in size and they inhabit the polar region of their world. Andorians believed the Aenar to be mythical creatures before their existence was confirmed circa 2104.


Andorians are a humanoid species with blue skin and antennae. They consider themselves a warrior race, in contrast with the pacifist Aenar who also live on the Andoria. They are native to the moon Andoria, which orbits the planet Andor. They were a founding member of the United Federation of Planets.

Andorians, with a higher metabolic rate than Terrans, were especially vulnerable to phase pulse infection; even minor phase injuries can prove fatal. However, they have demonstrated resistance to a wide range of environmental conditions. In a climate where the temperature is near the boiling point of water, an Andorian could still thrive, despite losing 10% of their body weight in two days. Andorians are a militaristic race, exemplified in small part by weaponry without stun settings. They consider it an honor to serve in their Imperial Guard, and military rank greatly influenced social reputation. Deploring dishonesty -- and never fighting without reason -- Andorians are nonetheless capable of duplicity. They consider themselves deeply emotional, passionate, even violent; not known for their charity or sympathy, they placed a high value on family.

A crucial part of Andorian tradition is Ushaan, a code of honor demanding a duel to the death, with combatants pitted against one another using an ushaan-tor iceminer's tool. A vast body of regulations -- up to 12,000 amendments -- bound this code. Such a fight could be called off if one combatant disabled the other enough to prevent its continuance. Though Ushaan could be called by someone to avenge a personal loss, there existed a right of substitution wherein each combatant could offer up a replacement; and married combatants could postpone duels indefinitely if they had no children to continue their clans.


Arcadian Star System
Arcadians have large, round, doll-like heads and have hair on the left and right sides of their heads with none in the middle. In contrast, the bodies of Arcadians are slim and delicate. Their noses protruded very little from the face and their ears were large and pointed. They have wide-set eyes that were particularly brightly colored, and did not have eyebrows. **They are not members of the United Federation of Planets until the 2280s.


Arcturians are known for their clones which have the appearance of melted skin. They joined the Federation of Planets in 2270.


They are members of the Federation. Ardanans were very famous for their anti-gravitational city, named Stratos, which floated in the sky. They are also known for their export of zenite. Their society has evolved two castes, the Stratos city-dwellers who devoted themselves purely to art and culture, and the surface-based Troglytes.

City-dwellers ruled the planet from Stratos trough a council existing solely of their class, justifying the total suppression of the Troglytes based on the widely held belief that as an inferior species the Troglytes were incapable of advanced culture like there existed on Stratos.


Argelius II
Outwardly identical to Humans, the Argelian race is known for its hedonistic, peace-loving nature, which was acquired after undergoing a period in Argelian history known as the Great Awakening circa the 2060s, which fundamentally reformed their society from violent to placid. Since the Great Awakening, the Argelians have adopted a pacifist way of life, deploring any form of violence. Some Argelians possess psychic powers, but it is not a common characteristic to their race. This pleasure-loving culture makes it necessary to import administrative officials from other worlds to maintain order.


Ariolo are a humanoid species and members of the United Federation of Planets. Ariolo have a tough, almost leathery skin that is usually a dark grey or brown in color. They have angular heads that slope upwards from a low forehead to the rear of the cranium. The jaw is angled down so that the mouth, which reverses the angular pattern to slope upward away from the line of the jaw and forehead, protrudes slightly away from the face.


Arken II
Arkenites were distinguished by their three cranial lobes, pointed ears, and solid green eyes that lack an iris. They had pale skin veering toward gray or very light tan.


The Axanar were an androgynous humanoid species with an average life span of 400 years, native to the planet Axanar. The Axanar have green blood. Their body produces triglobulin from its zymuth gland. This substance has medical and aphrodisiac properties, and is used by a number of different species for those purposes. Some even forcefully "harvest" Axanar for their triglobulin. The Axanar apparently prefer a nitrogen-methane atmosphere.

Ayt #

The Ayt were a species known to visit Earth in the alternate reality. They had feathery headdresses and a pair of Ayt could connect their tongues. Instead of fingernails they had claws.


Betelgeuse, Betelguese II
A humanoid avian species that possessed blue skin, pointed ears and stand roughly 7 feet tall.


B’Saari II
The B'Saari are an intelligent spacefaring species. They were the first sentient species with whom the Denobulans made contact with prior to the 19 century AD. Before this encounter, most Denobulans had believed themselves to be the only intelligent species in the galaxy. Some refused to believe otherwise even with evidence to the contrary standing before them.

The B'Saari had a technique for reviving the dead not unlike the procedure done in the Earth film Frankenstein, although the revived weren't capable of more than basic neural and metabolic functions.

Bzzit Khaht

Althos IV
A reptilian people with large, hooded green eyes, pronounced lips and tough skin. They’re bipedal, but have heavily webbed digits.


The Caitian species have been represented two ways, either being heavily furred with feline noses, long manes, tails and pointed ears. They also can be furless (as of the AU), with tails and humanoid pointed ears, cats eyes and rectractable claws.


Capella V
A somewhat markedly violent and tribe-based race of hearty people. The world has multiple warning flags for the extremely complicated honor-based system.


Catullans were humanoids from Catulla, a civilization that was a member of the Federation. They appear to have the ability to perform a nerve pinch similar to that employed by Vulcans, but it involves pressing the thumbs against the sides of the victim's neck below the ears. Catullans were noted starship engineers and many successful design yards were based out of Catulla. Their other sciences and society were slightly less advanced, but well up to Federation standards.

A humanoid species with a dilithium rich planet.


Delta IV
Deltans are a closely humanoid species and members of the FoP. They have a limited telepathic ability, allowing them to use touch to stop another person from feeling pain. Deltans emit extremely powerful pheromones, provoking a strong sexual reaction in many other species. Deltans in Starfleet are required to take an oath of celibacy while in service. Deltan culture is also said to emphasise sexuality heavily: to a Deltan, sex was like a handshake. The Deltans' strong sexual presence, even without physical contact, was explained by pheromones and sub-conscious telepathy. Sexual activity between a Deltan and a non-Deltan means risking insanity for the non-Deltan.

Relatively short humanoid race.


Alpha Carinae V
The Drella derived nourishment from the emotion of love. The Drella existed without form in the conventional sense, and were a mass of energy of highly cohesive electromagnetic fields. They were very similar to the mellitus, a gas cloud creature from Alpha Majoris I, and Redjac, a creature that existed for centuries by journeying from planet to planet, including Earth, Mars, Alpha Eridani II, Rigel IV, Argelius II, and Deneb II.

Eeiauoan *

A feline bipedal race with features similar to a terran house cat. They stand on average around 6 feet tall and have long fur, digitigrade legs, tails, nictating eye membranes and retractable claws. Biologically they were identical to the Sivaoans although the long separation had led to some differences in culture.


Efrosians are very similar in appearance to Klingons, save for the very slight cranial ridges in comparison to a Klingon's full crest, and a copper skin complexion. Their faces contain fatty deposits inherited from their primitive ancestors who neglected to cover their faces from the harsh cold of the planet Efros. Males tend to have white or blonde hair while females usually have black or dark brown hair. It is typical in Efrosian culture for the males to grow lengthy mustaches, and most Efrosians wear their hair long. Efrosians have two stomachs.

Efrosian culture is the result of living on the harsh, frozen world of Efros Delta for generations. Both technological and social development were minimal during the millennia-long ice age that ravaged the planet. Close-knit tribes formed out of a need for survival. Once the immense glaciers began to break up, the planet eventually united. There is no written language and they do not grasp the concept of monogamy.


Ekosians are a humanoid species native to Ekos, one of two M-class planets in an unnamed star system. The pre-spaceflight Ekosians. This drew the attention of their sister world, Zeon, which had managed to live in peace for many generations, and had developed the beginnings of interplanetary spaceflight. Many Zeons came to Ekos in an effort to help their neighbors learn peaceful ways.


Federation scientists described Elasian males as "vicious and arrogant" in early reports. Females had the ability to produce Elasian tears, a biochemical compound transmittable to males (including Human men) upon contact. The affected man became romantically infatuated and somewhat enthralled to the woman who infected them. Over centuries, men of Elas tried to overcome the tears' power, without success. Their technological level was pre-warp; with nuclear powered weapons and starships. Some Elasians wore a light and translucent body armor.

Elasians considered themselves a warrior people, and held little regard for the relatively gentle culture of their neighbors, the Troyians of Troyius.


A shapeshifting silicon-based lifeform.


A humanoid race that resided on Gideon, a planet that had a germ-free atmosphere, which led to the inhabitants' ability to regenerate their bodies and increase their life spans and ultimately caused massive overpopulation.


War-like humanoid reptilian race that ran into the Federation in 2259. Gorn were a cold-blooded, reptilian species with green, rubbery skin, red blood and an average height of approximately two meters. They tended to be many times stronger than most humanoids, albeit slower and less agile but with greater stamina and, like most cold-blooded species, preferred warmer temperatures.


A peace loving humanoid people who just happen to have a planet ripe with dilithium.

Hamalki *

Hamal IV
A Hamalki is a meter tall and has twelve legs attached to a rounded central abdomen. The chitinous body is mostly transparent, and polished to mirror smoothness, except for needle-fine spines on top of the abdomen. The abdomen has a slender ridge on top of that contains twelve eyes, giving the Hamalki 360-degree vision.

Hamalki, who already have longer than normal lifespans, are able to transfer their memories into new hatchlings before death, allowing them to pursue projects over several lifetimes.


Janus VI
The Horta are a silicon-based lifeform composed of a material similar to fibrous asbestos. Horta were difficult to detect with tricorders, and were invulnerable to type 1 phasers, though they could be injured with an adjusted type 2 phaser. They fed on rock, and thus they were nourished just by tunneling. Horta tunneled through rock like most humanoids walked through air, moving with the aid of an extremely corrosive acid. They left perfectly round tunnels in their wake. This acid was so corrosive that it only left fragments of bone and teeth if used on a Human. Although Hortas did not evolve in an oxygen environment, they seemed able to exist in it for extended periods of time.


Small, copper skinned aliens.


An advanced race of people capable of increadibly advanced technology who unfortunately wiped themselves out around the 2nd millennium BC. Molecular transporters, artificial planets and computers which could create lifelike projections lightyears away are the only left overs of this amazing people. Kalandans also built artificial planets for use as outposts. Their defensive programs, however, are positively deadly.


Rigel VII
The Kalar are a warrior species native to the planet Rigel VII. Somewhat larger than Humans, they primarily relied on weapons such as swords, spears, and maces.


A saurian race with extremely large craniums. Despite some similarities to the Gorn the Kasheeta evolved independently on the planet Kashet. Members of this race grow to 2.5 meters at adulthood.

The Males usually have dull-green skin. Female Kasheeta were arrogant and could take a quick offense at any provocation. Despite this they still prefer non-violent resolutions. The females can be identified by bright green or reddish-green skin. Some members of both sexes can have bright blueish neck scales which was believed by the Kasheeta to lead to superior breeding. All members of this race have bony, ridge-like structures at the base of the neck. This section of the body contains medicinal properties. Members of several planets in the Triangle sector have found monetary value in these medicines.

The Kasheetans have a life span of 20-30 standard years. The advancement of medicine was the primary focus of Kasheetan scientists in the late 23rd century. They can often seem aloof or arrogant and are slow to wwarm up to strangers. Once accepted, they are prone to frequent gifting and expect the same in return. They are a matriarchal society.


Known as the sheperds of the Federation, the Kazarites are known for their ability to commune with animals of all kind. They also possess powers of telekinesis and have some limited teleportation abilities. In appearance they are dark skinned with an enlarged cranium and a uniquely ridged face.


The Kelvans were an intelligent and rigidly disciplined non-humanoid, and masters of the Kelvan Empire. Only a few Kelvans were known to have traveled to the Milky Way Galaxy. Immense in comparison to humanoids, Kelvans were at least twice the size of an adult Klingon male. Their complex minds possessed sufficient discipline to operate each of their hundred tentacle-like limbs independently, but their superior intellectual capacity developed at the cost of more distracting emotions and sensory perceptions. Kelvan science allowed their explorers to abandon their native physical forms in favor of new bodies more appropriate to local environments. Rojan described the transference process as "encasing" themselves in "humanoid shells". The process was complete enough to pass naked-eye observation, as well as fundamentally shifting Kelvan personalities toward a humanoid perspective as they experienced life with radically different physical senses.

Kelvans believed in their innate superiority, and deemed it the fate of lesser species to be conquered and ruled. Ruthless but practical, their goals were expressed in plain, civil terms lacking any indication of blood-thirst. As long as the obedience demanded by the Kelvan code of honor was upheld, their conquered subjects were treated with appropriate respect.

Kelvans carried a device (worn on belts around their waist in their humanoid form) that served as a weapon, defense, and instrument of obedience. With a touch, a Kelvan could immobilize multiple targets with a neural field that selectively neutralized nerve impulses to their voluntary muscles.

With similar ease, the devices were capable of a far more drastic change to a target. The device could instantly "distill" a lifeform, suspending animation and encoding the essence of the target's physical form and personality into a compact and lightweight (the size of a human fist) dehydrated porous cuboctahedron solid, composed of the target's base minerals. The person could be reconstituted from their solid state at any time, as long as the solid remained intact.

The individual devices worn by a team of Kelvans functioned in tandem with a central field projector of extensive range. The belts are covered by a metallic substance that is impervious to phaser fire.


The Klingons were a humanoid warrior species that originated from the planet Qo'noS, an M-class planet. One of the major powers of the galaxy, the Klingons were a proud, tradition-bound people who valued honor and combat. The aggressive Klingon culture had made them an interstellar military power to be respected and feared. Klingons believed that they had the instinctive ability to look an opponent in the eye and see any intent to kill.

The warrior ethos had been an important aspect of Klingon society since the time of Kahless, but the warrior aspects became much more dominant beginning in the early 22nd century. Previously, Klingon society was regarded as socially balanced, but over time the warrior caste gained greater prominence, to the point where the Klingons widely came to be regarded as a "warrior race." Because of their aggressive outlook, the Klingons generally had poor relations with other races after they began to move out into space. Because the worlds of the Klingon Empire were resource-poor, the Klingons developed an intense belief in the need for expansion and conquest in order to survive. The Klingons' relationship with Humans and the Federation was rocky at best. Following the disastrous Firs Contact between Klingons and Humans, tense rivalries and unavoidable conflicts often developed between the two races.

In the year 2154, the Klingons gained access to the genetic material of Human Augments and tried to adapt this genetic engineering to improve themselves. The test subjects did gain increased strength and intelligence, but then their neural pathways started to degrade and they died in agony. One of the subjects suffered from the Levodian flu, which was modified by the Augment DNA to become a fatal, airborne, mutagenic plague that spread rampantly among the Empire, from world to world. In the first stage of this plague, Klingons lost the ridges on their foreheads and began to look more Human. With the help of a Klingon scientist named Antaak, Dr. Phlox of the Earth starship Enterprise was able to formulate a cure that halted the genetic effects of the virus in the first stage. This retained the changes in appearance along with some minor neural re-ordering. The neural ordering caused changes in the emotional makeup of the Klingons. For example, the infected started to feel fear. Even though the infected did not develop any stage-two characteristics, such as enhanced strength, speed, or endurance they did not die from it. This left millions of Klingons changed. These alterations were even passed on to their children.

Klingons were apparently so embarrassed by the fallout from their failed attempt at genetic enhancement that they refused to discuss the incident with outsiders. Due to the secrecy of the Klingon Empire, knowledge of the change became lost over time to the general population of the Federation. By the 24th century, the reason for smooth forehead Klingons was not widely known outside the Empire, and questions were generally met with a brusque answer along the lines of "we don't discuss it with outsiders." By 2223, relations between the Federation and the Klingon Empire degenerated to a point of relentless hostility, which lasted for several decades.

The lingering tensions between Klingons and Humans continued to rise, eventually leading to the Battle of Donatu V near Sherman's Planet in 2245, and later erupted into what was considered the Federation-Klingon War of 2267. This war was quickly ended by intervention by the Organians after only four days of fighting. Klingon society was extremely complex. Before its decline in the mid 22nd century and again in late 23rd century Klingon society was based on a feudal system organized around traditional Great Houses of noble lineage, to which various parts of the population owed fealty. The Great Houses are traditionally represented in the Klingon High Council, which is led by a Chancellor.

The decline of Klingon culture is demonstrated in the acts of the Klingons themselves. They stopped caring about their weapons to the point that they let them rust and even stopped caring for true honor. Sometime after the augment virus took hold of the Klingon Empire a new regime took control turning the Empire into a fascist state that kept tabs on all who served. Males traditionally dominated public life in the Empire, assuming the leading roles in politics and the military with only rare exceptions. Klingon women were treated as equals except in politics and matters of inheritance. They were prohibited by law from serving in the High Council and cannot take control of their Houses unless they have the money and no male successors of the lineage. Otherwise, Klingon women were expected to exhibit the same physical prowess and lust for blood and honor as the men.

Klingon society functioned through a system of family reputation and honor. Tradition was an integral part of their lives and breaking from observances was considered a grievous insult to society, an insult that is not forgotten easily. An offense usually brought shame to the offender's name for several generations. The highest shame was discommendation, an action by the High Council to officially strip a Klingon of his personal or family honor. Bloodlines and relations were also taken very seriously by any "true" Klingon. Lines comprise more than mere family members.

The most distinctive feature of Klingon anatomy (except in those individuals afflicted with the Augment Virus) was a sagittal crest, beginning on the forehead and often continuing over the skull. The cranium was encased in an exoskeleton, which possesses a feature known as the tricipital lobe. On average, Klingons were larger and physically stronger than Humans, though they possessed a much lower tolerance for cold weather Klingon blood can contain ribosomes that are compatible for transfusion with a Romulan.

The anatomy of a male Klingon afflicted with the Augment virus. Internally, Klingon anatomy was markedly different from that of Humans. There is a great deal more multiple redundancy in their organs, a principle they call brak'lul. This allowed Klingons to survive severe injuries in battle. They had twenty-three ribs, two livers, an eight chambered heart, three lungs, and even redundant neural function and multiple stomachs. Some geneticists believed that the extra organs, notably the third lung, evolved to give Klingons greater stamina on the battlefield. Surprisingly, Klingons had relatively little knowledge of their own biology and their medicine is very poorly developed. This was largely due to their warrior traditions - a Klingon who is wounded was expected to be left to survive through his own strength, die, or to undergo the hegh'bat, a form of ritual suicide.

Klingon pregnancies normally ran thirty weeks, but with mixed species, gestation times were shorter. The odds against Klingon-Human conceptions were rather high; however, when successful, Klingon and Human metabolisms sometimes clashed, causing biochemical fluctuations in the mother, which may lead to fainting. Klingon traits remained dominant for several generations, even with a single ancestor; therefore, a child even Klingon still possessed forehead ridges if he or she carried the gene.
Klingons had ridged spines, chests and feet. After birth some Klingon infants experienced a pronounced curvature to the spine, which was correctable by surgery. This "defect" tended to run in Klingon families, especially among females. Federation medicine, fortunately, advanced beyond that, allowing an additional choice of treatment involving genetic modification.

Klingon children matured far more quickly than Human children. At the age of only one Earth year, a Klingon child had the appearance a Human child had at about four. By the age of eight Earth years, a Klingon attained the maturity a Human did not reach until about age sixteen. When Klingon children began growing into adults, they went through jak'tahla, a Klingon form of puberty.

K’normian – K’norm (Psi Tauri)
Humanoid species with enlarged and ridged frontal lobes. They possessed an eight sense that gave them a superior sense of time and space. Some K’normians are said to almost pass as humans.


A humanoid species that lives underwater. Federation scientists have developed an injection that allow a recipient to traipse above ground for upwards of a week. Their planet has jade in such abundance that they make everything out of it. That even includes their houses.


The Melkot (or Melkotians) are a telepathic and xenophobic civilization from the Alpha Quadrant. The Melkot used their telepathic powers to punish aliens who encroached upon their space without permission (which, prior to 2268, they never extended). A typical Melkotian physically floated aboveground without a body. It had a bulbous head and a pair of very bright, circular eyes. The Melkots project their victims into intricate telepathic projections (often mass projection) where they may succumb to the very power of their own beliefs.


Cestus III
A god-like humanoid race capable of manipulating forms of energy unknown to Federation science, to perform comprehensive scans at great range, to transport matter great distances instantly, and perhaps to rapidly terraform planets to specific requirements. Metrons have incomprehensibly long lifespans and may remain childlike for upwards of 1,500 years+.


Minarian Star System
Empathic Minarans were a peaceful, pre-spacefaring species from one of the planets in the Minaran system. They were mute; however, the lack of vocal cords was not a disability, but was physiologically normal for their race. They were not only able to sense the emotions of others, but appeared to have an innate desire to help others. They possessed the ability to absorb pain from another person and to heal injuries. Identical wounds then appeared on the Minaran, and they were able to dissipate the absorbed injuries through their own body. Minarans were capable of adapting after contact with other species; if exposed to passion and bravery, they would become passionate and brave. It was not known, however, exactly how empathic Minarans communicated.

Nibrian *

Nibirans were tall bipeds with white, chalky skin. The Nibirans' eyes were black, without apparent pupils. An eyelid was on the bottom of each eye. Nibirans also had four nostrils and pointed teeth, but no ears. Ceremonially, adult Nibirans wore black lines signifying tribal markings. Even infants of the species were marked with these. The Nibrian people have evolved to possess their own language and writing skills, but technologically are nowhere near enough advance to be approached.


Orion, Orion System
Orions were known for their distinctive green skin. Orion males were typically bald and, on average, taller and more muscular than the average Human male. Orion females were very animalistic in nature, known for their extreme carnal appetites and their innate skill of seduction.

Orion women used their unique physiology to their advantage; their highly potent pheromones accelerated the metabolisms of males of many species, raising adrenaline production to dangerous levels which caused aggression and, ultimately, a form of delusion. Its most significant effect was to make them susceptible to suggestion. Not long after, the "owner" males began taking orders from their "slave" females. The pheromones' effects were cumulative; the longer exposed, the more pronounced the results. Human females reacted negatively to those same pheromones, experiencing headaches. Vulcans were immune to effects of the pheromones.

Orion once harbored a highly advanced civilization whose history had drawn great interest from Federation historians and archaeologists alike.


Sahndara (destroyed), Platonius
Humanoid bipeds who have travelled the stars extensively, including to Earth during the time of Plato. They reconfigured their belief system around the philosopher’s teachings before moving on to another M Class planet. Time spent on their new world and exposure to its unique kironide-laden ecosystem found them developing psychokinetic powers. The most powerful psionic took control of their society and ruled without challenge for better or worse.


Though little is known about the alien species,, they are said to have rescued many foundling races from the brink of extinction and reseeded them throughout more habitable worlds where they could grow and thrive.


The Remans were the slave labor caste of the Romulan people since at least the 22nd century and forced to work in the extremely hazardous dilithium mines of their world. As Remus was a tidally locked planet, the Remans live on its dark side, and thus were extremely sensitive to light. Some Remans, if not all, possessed telepathic abilities similar to those shown by Vulcans.

The Remans are a nocturnal race characterized by their imposing heights, grey skin, large ears, keen eyesight in the dark.

Rhaandarite *

The Rhaandarites are a long-lived, androgynous humanoid race native to Rhaandarel noted for their prominent forehead lobes, as well as being well-suited for taking orders -- more so than for giving them. Rhaandarites have a lifespan of several centuries and have a very complex social structure. While not well-known, most Rhaandarites in Starfleet service are considered "slow-learners " or "problem cases" on their homeworld, and are thought to benefit from Starfleet's "simple" hierarchy.


Beta Rigel
Spacefaring descendants of saber-toothed turtles who have evolved past the need for a shell and developed an asexual nature. They still lay eggs- which plays a large role in their feudal system and hierarchy.


The Romulans are a humanoid race who are biological cousins of Vulcans, as they were descended from those who rejected Surak's reforms during the Time of Awakening. The Romulan Star Empire was the Romulan state and one of the major powers known in the galaxy. A decidedly xenophobic and arguably racist people, the Romulans tended to conquer species rather than form alliances with them, and individual Romulans tend to treat other species with varying degrees of disdain. That did not prevent them from employing diplomacy when it suited their purposes.

Due to their shared ancestry, Vulcans and Romulans possessed very similar physiology, including varied skin color. Romulans had pointed ears, eyebrows that were arched and up-swept, and copper-based blood that appeared green when oxygenated in the arteries, or copper or rust-colored when deoxygenated in the veins. Most Romulans had two brow ridges above the bridge of their nose, forming a V-shape on the forehead. However, a minority of Romulans lack these ridges, making them outwardly indistinguishable from Vulcans.


Sauria (Psi Sirpentis)
These were a lizard-like people who were renowned for their intelligence. They had the unusual ability to breathe several different gases, which made them useful members of landing parties. They were also very strong and had four hearts.They hailed from a trinary star system in the Alpha Quadrant. The primary was a Class G star. Magnitude of this star was +1, which was 100 times brighter than Sol. Both of the stellar companions were Class G stars, too.


A humanoid race whose long term exposure to radiation sickness permanently changed their biology, rendering it largely infertile. Being a short lived race (who experience hours as humans do minutes), they teeter helplessly close to extinction without genetic intervention. They are a matriarchal society.


O’Ryan’s Planet
Very little is known about the Shamin to date or what actually is under their ornate golden masks and voluminous robes. Their planet was discovered by Paddy O’Ryan in the 22nd century.

Sivaoan *

A nomadic feline bipedal race with features similar to a terran house cat. They stand on average around 6 feet tall and have long fur, digitigrade legs, tails, nictating eye membranes and retractable claws. Biologically they were identical to the Eeiauoan although the long separation had led to some differences in culture.


Talos IV in the Talos Star Group
The Talosians were an aged, cerebral, sentient, humanoid species who were once a technologically advanced culture. A nuclear holocaust left their planet virtually uninhabitable and killed most of the species. The survivors of the nuclear war congregated in underground dwellings, where they became dependent on their mental ability to create stunningly real illusions, an ability that had been developed by their ancestors. As their mental powers grew, they lost the ability to use the technology left behind by their ancestors. The Talosians found that life using illusion was addictive, almost like a Human developing a physical and psychological dependence on narcotics. They became bored with the content of the illusions which they had. Their dependence upon these illusions for mental stimuli caused the Talosians to begin capturing space travelers to use as the living basis for their illusions.


Tellar Prime (Miracht)
Tellarites were a porcine species whose facial features are somewhat pig-like. They had black pupils set in deep eye sockets and large snouts. Their skin was pinkish-brown and coarse, and normally heavily covered with hair. Tellarite blood is purple. They had average heights of: 1.8 meters (male) 2.2 meters (female) and a life expectancy of 87 years (male) 93 years (female).

Tellarite legs ended in two-toed feet with hooves, and their femur was notable for its missing the third tochanter, and that their fibula was vestigial. Their digestive system was designed for plants, and as such they had two stomachs which utilized bacteria to break down the food before entering their single intestine. Despite this, canines were a delicacy on Tellar Prime.

The Tellarite sense of smell and hearing was advanced for a humanoid, while their eyesight was subpar. Their poor vision was due to evolving on a world with soft, seasonless mists. Tellarites were almost always born in groups of six, as they approach puberty they developed a bristly yellow mane of hair. They reach adulthood by the age of twelve Earth years. Virtually all are ambidextrous.

Tellarites were well known for their engineering skills with their talent being renowned throughout the Federation. They are a founding member of the Federation of Planets.


The Tholians were an extremely xenophobic, non-humanoid hermaphroditic species with a propensity for precision. A living Tholian was approximately the same height as a Human. It was principally a reddish color, in varying shades, and there was the suggestion of fluid or field motion within the body. Tholians had a hard carapace that was chiefly mineral. There were six thin legs that made it possible for the being to move in any direction quickly; the legs were articulated with joints roughly corresponding to the knee and ankle of humanoid species. Each leg ended in a multi-toed foot. The legs were attached at the base of the torso and were radially symmetric. There were two arms; each had joints analogous to the humanoid elbow and wrist, and each arm ended in a multi-fingered hand. There was a slightly visible neck that was covered by a semitransparent dome membrane that shielded the head. Tholians had two glowing spots near the top of their torso. They turned these to face individuals with whom they interacted, which suggested they were some sort of information-gathering organ(s). Tholians communicated primarily through a series of clicks and chirps. Tholians were hermaphroditic, with each individual possessing both male and female sexual organs.

Known tholian technology includes web-like traps deployed in space.


The Tiburonians are a humanoid species, native to the planet Tiburon. The males of the species were bald and had unusually shaped ears. Female Tiburonians had either caucasoid or greenish skin, long hair and enlarged eyebrows. Some males did not have eyebrows and had a small ridgeline across their forehead. Tiburonian government was comprised of a group of tribes.


Troyius, Tellan System
Troyians were the green-skinned humanoid natives of the planet Troyius in the Tellun system.

In the 23rd century, the Troyian governmental arrangement included a Ruler and the Troyius Tribunal. Troyians maintained a friendly diplomatic relationship with the Federation, during a period of conflict between the Federation and the Klingon Empire over control of the Tellun system. Troyians had a history of war with their neighboring planet of Elas, and considered the spartan Elasians to be arrogant and primitive compared to the more civilized and polite Troyian society.


Gamma Trianguli VI
A primitive humanoid species native to the planet Gamma Trianguli VI. Their skin was reddish in color, although they used face-paint, which may have also affected the color of their skin. Their hair was gray-white and bushy. They were ruled by a self-aware machine named Vaal, who ruled over them for 10,000 years, where every person on the planet revered Vaal as a god.


Minarian Star System
Vians, was a telepathic, technologically advanced race with enlarged cranial cavities and purplish or grayishskin. They were capable of injuring their subjects by magnifying the power of their own thoughts.

Technologically, the Vians were extremely advanced by 23rd-century Federation standards. They possessed the ability to transport the entire population of one planet (presumably pre-warp) to a safe location. They also possessed the ability to create detailed mirages of people they had never met and appeared to have the ability to read the minds of humanoids.

Each Vian's energy transfer device responded to its owner's thoughts, and no others. The devices could be altered to another thought pattern only with difficulty. Doing so required a working knowledge of the desired thought pattern and a good deal of time. Once attuned, it could alter the environment around the user, transfer the user or others from point to point in the manner of a transporter, inflict or heal injuries, repel individuals, alter the rate at which time progresses, and generate a type of force field that fed off the energy and emotions exerted by those contained within.


Vulcan [destroyed]
The Vulcans or Vulcanians were a warp capable humanoid species from the planet Vulcan. They were widely known for their logical minds and stoic culture. The planet Vulcan was destroyed by the Romulan Nero in 2258. Over six billion Vulcans were killed, with an estimated 10,000 survivors.

Genetically, Vulcans and Humans were similar enough that they could produce offspring without any problems. Externally, Vulcans were generally similar to Humans, the chief exceptions being the Vulcans' notably arched and up-swept eyebrows and the distinctive auriculae of their ears, the tops of which tapered into clearly defined points. Vulcan largely have black hair and greenish tinged skin, but may have characteristics similar to Terran Asian or African descent.

Vulcan blood was copper-based and was copper- or rust-colored when deoxygenated in the veins and green when oxygenated in the arteries. Vulcans possessed a highly efficient respiratory system to extract the oxygen they needed from Vulcan's thin atmosphere. They were most comfortable in high temperatures, which was natural given the hot, arid climate of their homeworld. A Vulcan of advanced age may become more sensitive to lower temperatures.

Vulcan hearing was very sensitive. Having evolved on a planet which was mostly desert, Vulcans developed ways of surviving in desert conditions. For example, they could survive for several days without water and had inner eyelids which protected their eyes. They were also capable of surviving for long durations without food or sleep. Under stress, Vulcans could do without sleep for weeks. Vulcans were on average three times physically stronger than Humans, and had considerably faster reflexes.

Vulcans possess inherent telepathic abilities, such as the Vulcan mind meld. Vulcans were natural touch-telepaths. Though considerable training was required to utilize this ability to the fullest (this would be performing the fal-tor-pan), simpler contacts did not require any concentration, training or even conscious knowledge of the act. Stronger minds were capable of non-contact telepathic projection and scanning, usually over short distances, but sometimes even over interstellar distances. Another psionic ability of the Vulcan race was the telepathic suggestion or compulsion.

Approximately every seven years, adult Vulcans had to endure pon farr, the Vulcan mating period. It was marked by intense emotions and primal urges (known as plak tow, or "blood fever") that could kill the Vulcan if not satisfied. Physiological symptoms included elevated dopamine levels and fever. For such an orderly society of quiet sobriety, the madness which accompanied the outbreak of pon farr was an unavoidable evil.

The government on Vulcan was a representative democracy. Individual political advancement was based on meritocratic principles. The Vulcans held a number of spiritual beliefs, though little is known about the details. Their religious system was polytheistic. They also believed in the katra, the soul and consciousness of a person, which could be transferred psionically prior to death. Vulcans were generally non-violent, but logic dictated that combat was sometimes necessary. Vulcans could and did use weapons and practiced martial arts called tal-shaya and Suus Mahna. Most later Vulcans were vegetarians.


New Xannon
The Xanno were a humanoid civilization known to the Federation. They were a stout race, characterized by a barrel chest and a bony forehead protrusion. They were known to be fun loving and enjoyed the company of others. They were also known to beat their chests for emphasis.


Xelatians appear as a humanoid bipedal creature who require full body coverings save for their typically long, flowing gray hair. They encase their face in boxy golden masks with a backlit window that allows one to see their eyes. Few notes on their society.


Zaran II
Zaranites could not breath oxygen. In order to survive on Class-M worlds, they used breathing masks with shaded eye coverings built in and backpacks that supplied them with fluorine gas. They are a bulbous headed alien with ruddy colored skin.


Blue skinned humanoids that stand extremely tall. Very few notes available.
